Correction Policy

At Banas Patrika (hereinafter referred to as “Banas Patrika” / “We” / “Us” / “Our”), we’re all about keeping things real and accurate for you, our readers. Through this Correction Policy, we want to walk you through what we do if we realize we’ve slipped up and published something incorrect on our website. We take our responsibility to you seriously, and if we get something wrong, it’s on us to fix it fast and let you know about it as soon as possible.

Premise

Our goal at Banas Patrika is to bring you news that’s spot-on and complete, based on everything we know when we hit “publish.” We’re always on our toes to fix mistakes in our content the moment we catch them. Since we’re a digital platform, we don’t just update the article quietly – we’ll shout it out with a correction or clarification on our social media channels or drop an editor’s note explaining what went wrong and how we fixed it. And if it’s a big oops that might’ve spread some misinformation, we’ll own up to it with a sincere apology to you, our readers, without delay.

Updating a Report

We like to keep you in the loop. If a story gets updated, we’ll slap a note on it so you know what’s changed. Whether it’s fixing a major mistake or adding new comments and updates from someone involved, we’ll use a correction, clarification, or editor’s note to fill you in. If we goof up on a fact-check (done per our Fact-Check Policy at [“Fact-Check Policy”]), we’ll tweak the article and stick a bold [Correction: updated info…] at the top, spelling out what we corrected. We also love hearing from you – if you spot something off, drop us a line at banaspatrika25@gmail.com. Plus, at the bottom of every story, there’s a handy spot for you to suggest corrections!

Corrections

If we’re making a big fix to an article, photo caption, headline, graphic, video, or anything else, we’ll pop up a correction right away and explain why it was needed. Transparency’s the name of the game here!

Clarification

Sometimes our facts are solid, but the way we wrote them might’ve been a little fuzzy or lacking detail. In that case, we’ll rewrite it, make it crystal clear, and add a clarification to the story. We’ll also use this to note if we forgot to get a comment or response that’s now been added, or if fresh reporting has changed our take on a story.

Editor’s Notes

If a correction shakes up the whole point of an article or brings up a serious ethical question, we might roll out an editor’s note. It’ll break down what’s going on, and a senior editor gives it the green light before it goes live.

Other Corrections Policies

If one of you awesome readers catches an error and flags it in the comments, our community team might jump in to say it’s been fixed.

If we mess up on social media, we’ll correct it right there on the platform. If we can’t tweak it, we’ll pull it back and retract the wrong info.

We don’t play the blame game with our reporters or editors – no “oops, reporter messed up” or “editor’s fault” here. It’s a team effort, and we handle it as a team.

Reporting Inaccuracies

Think we got something wrong? Please let us know! You can hit up the “Suggest A Correction” section at the end of every story or shoot us an email at banaspatrika25@gmail.com. We’re all ears and ready to dig into it.

Take-down Requests

Here’s the deal: as a matter of editorial policy, we don’t do take-downs. If someone says a story’s off, we’re happy to look into it and publish a correction if needed. If fairness calls for an update or follow-up on something we’ve covered, we’ll make it happen – but wiping an article like it never existed? That’s not our style.

That said, if we’ve shared publicly available personal data and someone’s safety is at risk because of it, we’ll review take-down requests on a case-by-case basis. Your well-being matters to us.

A Little Help from AI

We sometimes team up with AI tools (think ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and others) to tweak content. That means if there’s a correction or something’s off, we can switch it up instantly. If you’re taking action or spotting something we should fix, please send us the details – including the story link – to banaspatrika25@gmail.com. We’ll update the content and any images ASAP.
